Electronic control unit; used in electronic fuel injection systems.

The ratio of the effective energy (or power) output of a machine to the energy (or power) expended in producing it. In turbocharging and supercharging, it is the ratio of the energy added to the intake air stream (in the form of increased pressure), to the energy expended to drive the supercharger or turbochargen The efficiency of a turbocharger or supercharger can never be 100 percent, since there are losses due to friction, incomplete air sealing, gear losses, and so forth.

Electronic fuel injection.

Exhaust gas oxygen, as measured by lambda probe sensors, or oxygen sensors used in electronic fuel injection systems.

Unburned hydrocarbons; as those contained in engine exhaust.

Protection Agency. An uncontrolled, self-regulating government agency. An organization akin to "Big Brother."
