Vyrus at Ducati Speed Week
Pannonia Ring. 25 - 27.07.2008
The week end begin with problems for the official factory Vyrus team.
Chiancianesi and Comanducci had a shake down and Contigliozzi suffered a terrible chattering on the front end of his Vyrus 984.
A lot of work was necessary to reassemble the broken machines and find the right setting for the chrono practice of Saturday. At the evening a fantastic first row in the Desmodue class and incredible first and second row in the Protwin class, recompensed the strong work of the staff.
The Race in Desmodue class: Francesco Contigliozzi had a 30 seconds penalty for jumpstart. The Dutch Ducati Kamna team with his Demon, driven Rosival Agoston, won the rave, second place to Luca Gasparini on his GPM Ducati, and third the incredible return of Francesco Fontanot, riding his 984 C3 2V powered by the new 1200 Factory engine. 6th Francesco Contigliozzi and 22nd Marco Chiancianesi on his 984 1100 Velocyraptor. Marco had in this occasion his first race and only the 3rd time in his life into a race track!!!
The Race in Ducati Racing Class where we had another rookie involved: Giovanni Rusconi on his Excalibur 985. His result sound incredible, first race as Marco, 3rd time in a race track and driving a 160 hp Vyrus weapon: he gained 15th place and run incredible fast lap time 2.15". This is the first official race of a 985 C34V. Good Luck young baby!
The Race in Protwin class was the last of the day, the "clou"! The 2valves class was won by the german rider Werner Hausner, 2nd "Paperoga" Francesco Contigliozzi and 3rd Fracesco Fontanot. 2 Vyrus on the podium! A real satisfaction and a lot of pleasure for the official team.
The Vyrus is back again and the race season started in the best way!
